  • Beverly Unger

    DVM

    Beverly Unger, DVM grew up in the small town of Herndon, Kansas. She attended the 1st grade and graduated valedictorian of her senior class all at the same school. She was raised on a farm/ranch with many animals. Dr. Unger is a 1987 graduate from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine. She worked in Oklahoma for one year at a mixed animal practice before moving to Texas. She has been practicing veterinary medicine for over twenty years and we are very lucky to have had her as part of team for fourteen of those years. Dr. Unger is married and has one teenage son. On her days off, you will find her on a jogging trail, or working out in the gym, and juggling a hectic schedule of mom, doctor, and wife.

  • Valarie Romo

    DVM

    Valarie Romo, DVM grew up in Oklahoma, attended the University of Oklahoma for her undergraduate education and received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State in 1994. We feel very fortunate that she decided to venture to Texas, or else she wouldn't have joined the Angel team in 2006! Dr. Romo's has a special interest in exotic and pocket pets, as well as advanced dentistry. Her personal pet menagerie includes Bounder the Greyhound, Misty the cat and two very special gerbils Austin and Spock. When not working Dr. Romo enjoys gardening, reading and teaching pre-school at her church. Of course spending time with her husband, two sons and daughter are always at the top of the list!

  • Matt Lane

    DVM

    Matt Lane, MS, DVM, CCRT is a native of the Texas Panhandle, and attended West Texas A&M in Canyon, Texas before transferring to Colorado State, where he received his Bachelor's degree in Biology. He furthered his studies in Anatomy and Neurobiology, receiving his Master's degree, and ultimately completed his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 2004. Among his many other talents, Dr. Lane is also a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist. Dr. Lane is married to a native Texan and has 3 young children. Recently they lost their Border Collie "Josie" after 15 years of companionship, and the family has yet to decide on their new pet. Dr. Lane loves to spend time with his family, as well as to fish and play golf.

  • Cristian Palma

    VMD

    Cristi��n Palma, MSC, VMD is originally from Lima, Peru. Born into a diplomatic family, he has lived in many countries while growing up, including, France, Peru, England, Yugoslavia, and Brazil. Dr. Palma received his International Baccalaureate degree while on scholarship at Lester Pearson United World College in Victoria, British Columbia. He went on to do his Bachelor's degree in Biology, and Master's in Ecology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. To further his studies, he received his Doctorate in Veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 1995. His first year practicing was spent in New Jersey at a small animal hospital with 5 other veterinarians. In 1996, he and his wife moved to the Flower Mound area and he joined a small animal practice in Dallas, where he spent the next seven years. Dr. Palma worked part time at Angel Veterinary Center for two years, and joined our team full time in April 2007. Dr. Palma loves to spend time with his wife and 3 children, is a purple belt in karate and enjoys reading, languages and traveling. He has 2 cats, Maya and Sara and hopes to eventually add a dog to the mix.

  • Kristen Hassler

    DVM

    Kristen Hassler, DVM is from Houston, Texas. She attended Baylor University for her undergraduate work and graduated veterinary school from Texas A&M University in 2002. Following graduation, Dr. Hassler practiced emergency medicine for the next six years, and she continues to have a special interest in the area of critical care. Dr. Hassler has recently moved to the Flower Mound area. She has a miniature schnauzer named Abbie and three cats - Isis, Doodle, and Pickles. During her time off, Dr. Hassler enjoys playing golf, quilting, and scuba diving.
